Upskilling
« on: May 12, 2011, 07:38:45 PM »
Should we be forced to continue to upskill as voted by Parliament today even though it is an illegal act :o :o (you cant win when the government authorizes the theft >:( >:(). We now need to stand up as a industry and be counted and if they still take no notice then a all out strike during the world cup should wake them up.

Please answer the poll and if you answer no please private message Wal under the Fellow Practitioner with your details and join the PGDF its FREE

I'm feeling more like this  >:D  Good poll!!
Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

The courses run to date have been a crock of shit. I knew more than the guy running the ones where I live. The content was too simple. The points allocated are way to many. The ones I went to were meant to last four hours but our tutor made sure we were done in two.

A big fat waste of money that hasn't resulted in any improvement in the work that I see from plumbers and drainlayers if I'm being honest.

I can understand the frustration but stay fight for our country. This Land would be a lot better if we couldn't just jump the ditch. It just makes the situation harder for those left behind when all the people with get up and go just get up and leave . Cheers

I asked my boss today..."After 30 years plumbing and no formal complaints EVER layed aghinst you...Do YOU feel your self incompentent?"..."Of course not!" he replied...But yet the board will deem him to be incompent if he dont play the money for points scam!

First we have to establish what is compentance:

The conscious competence theory is another name for the "Four Stages of Learning", a theory posited by 1940's psychologist Abraham Maslow?

The Four Stages

Unconscious Incompetence
The individual does not understand or know how to do something and does not necessarily recognize the deficit.
THIS STAGE CLEARLY REPRESENTS THE ACTIONS OF THE PGDB...They dont know what there doing cus they are not COMPENTANT at what they are doing...This clearly shows in the RRC findings

Conscious Incompetence
Though the individual does not understand or know how to do something, he or she does recognize the deficit.
THIS STAGE REPRESENTS A FIRST AND SECOND YEAR TRANIEE...KNOWN WORLDWIDE AS A FIRST AND SECOND YEAR APPRENTISE in a formal apprentiship...not the stupid(no one knows)term trainee!

Conscious Competence
The individual understands or knows how to do something. However, demonstrating the skill or knowledge requires concentration.
THIS STAGE REPRESENTS A THIRD AND FINAL YEAR APPRENTISE

Unconscious Competence
The individual has had so much practice with a skill that it has become "second nature" and can be performed easily. He or she may be able to teach it to others, depending upon how and when it was learned.
THIS STAGE CLEARLY SHOWS THE ACTIONS OF MOST CERTIFYING PLUMBERS out there in the trade so long that they have learnt to eat, sleep and shit plumbing without having to apply much conscious effort to get the job done!

So how can it be that the PGDB who shows complete incompetence can state what is going to make me or you for that fact a better plumber?
The same board that puts fees in the wrong category....The same board that to justify there own jobs mix it up by changing the terms for craftsman plumbers to certifying plumbers which is legaly incorect because no plumber has any power to self certify his own work...We only produce a producery doocument to state that we are the ones that did the work as the councils have final say in the certification of said plumbing so to me this term is a LIE and not legal....IF you rock on up to someones house and introduce yourself as a certifying plumber then the plublic can only think that you CAN INDEED certify your own work! and this is a lie and presents misleading Flase information to the public!!!
Im sure its illegal to tell porkies to the plublic as such?...Im sure that you cant sell something that your NOT!...Its a sort of fraud.

All i want is some parity here those that tell us that we are indeed incompentant AFTER ONLY ONE YEAR should themselvs be answareable(big word lol) for there actions as we are!...and we have seen them make many mistakes so far yet they ALL STILL have there jobs???? WTF how is it that they can take the piss like this and yet only too little fall on one single pipe out of friken thousands run and they try to hang us...So who the F**k has being fired for setting the fees under the wrong part of the act?????!!!!. WHERE is the parity?
I reckon we should form a breakaway freedom fighting plumbers union and set up a real development plan for CPD and real fees set under the CORRECT part of the REVELENT law!

Im still flabbergusted by this criminal process we have seen in the last few weeks!...BY the Master Plumbers ass...By the minister of building and housing...By the PGDB and BY THE PRESENT GOVT!

Some one need to get a tractor with a s**t spreader on the back fill it up with human crap and go sprinkle the lawn of parliment see if they like a big pile of shit being dumped in there lap as we have just had done to us by those in power!...

Nobody i know EVER likes a taste of there own medicine!

Anyway blah blah blah...pop...steinlager...gulp,gulp...AAAAAHHHHHH! have a good evening all.

I like this quote cus this is how i feel right now..."Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward."

Competence is not something you can buy it is years of training and experience and customers who believe in you and your continued abilities
This is why we have no confidence in the board
