Board Appeals loss of Charitable Status
« on: February 19, 2013, 05:57:15 PM »
Set down for Wellington High Court 24 April, Court Room 4, 10am.  The hearing is open to the general public.  If you live in Wellington and want to see some of your hard earned cash that you handed over to the PGDB in fees being spent with gay abandon then mosey on along and have a listen.

And here is the other news:
No entity has successfully appealed their de-registration from the Charities Register since the Act came into
force in 2008.

So all in all it looks like a wasted effort, and yet they still persist on.

To find out more about charitable status and de-registration have a read of this article http://www.thelawyers.co.nz/uploaded_images/Publications/De-registration-of-Charitable-Entities-250912.pdf

Well worth the read and very educational - hmmmm maybe we should get points for that?  Self directed learning?  Then after that we could explain it to the Board members so they are competent when it comes to Charitable Status.

Hi guys,
…
The key issue for determination by the Commission when considering applications for registration is whether the entity is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes. These purposes include the relief of poverty.…
Can’t see how the Board can claim that one as they are more than likely to create poverty among our trades with the costs that they put on the industry.
…
The advancement of education or religion, or any other matter beneficial to the community.…
The Board  will claim that education by way of forced up-skilling in the name of `Health and Safety` would be beneficial to the community, but throw in the money making `conflict of interest` as they run the courses and if you don`t do it you cannot work syndrome then I think that is not charitable, cheers

It is proof positive that they are arrogant and self serving......on what planet do they carry out any charity work.....clowns.

Their ego can't take the knock.........it is embarrassing...

Here's an idea do CPD for nothing, no cost, instead of the majority running their own training companies......jerks.
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

If I wanted to find evidence of conflict of interests of board and/or MP members over CPD and the said, running their own CPD companies for lucrative gain where could I look?

S'easy mate just look at all the past and present boards of the ITO,Master Plumber's and the PGDB board, etc etc, then cross reference, their names with all their clubs and memberships and watch the tree of connections grow....mines like a feckin Oak now mate, from little acorns....sent it all to my Buddy's back in the UK, they love it....better than Corro mate.

Some people trace family history and family trees.........its my hobby now,  ;)

Just google them mate and their little clubs/affiliations....its quite an eye opener........thing is because they just got to tell you how connected and great they are....... its all over the net...... photos, speeches, membership lists, awards, I printed all of it off and sent heaps of the best stuff to a few of my mates in the UK, bit of a private joke now all the way back to sunny Wales.

Technology just amazes me...years ago they would have screwed me over and hung me out to dry, but I can research and contact 1000's while I sit in my arm chair, it is so easy. Give it a go Rodza it addictive, spread it around mate....in public they are seen for what they are.......bunch of corrupt wankers who think they are better than everyone else.

Yeah ok will have a little look see at what these so called "charitable officers" are really up to. What a joke though, they bring shame to the meaning of the word charity. Especially when we are charged to be able to legally work, there is no choice in the matter.

These people are working for a "charity" earning 6 figure salaries and hefty "Board attendance payments", you just got to love the hypocrisy........nice.

Why does a charity need a $195,000.00 per year leased building for 9 years?

Hmmmm.........so for their vanity and ego, the industry will pay $1,755,000.00, nearly 2 million bucks and at the end have feck all to show for it.... all gone in rent(plus they have decorated like you wouldn't believe all fancy leather swivel chairs and massive desks (been in there seen it all).........

But it was all run, for many years, until these self serving twats got hold of it, run from a town house in lower hutt......go figure, they could have bought that house outright probably 4 times over and still had some left over.......perhaps to donate to their favourite charity.....its nothing short of sick, especially when so many are struggling, under the costs imposed by these people.....CPD on ethics wouldn't hurt them.

Your dead right mate, it wouldn't hurt them but they are busy driving their own careers to heights unimaginable for most at the expense of everyone else. They have quite simply been given far far too much power with 0 accountability for their action or in-action. Its a win win for them under the Act really.. If their right then they are right, if they are wrong they are also right, they just find a way to push it through.

Remember the catch phrase of one current Board member though, honesty, integrity, ethics and transparency.....what a crock of shit huh

Other than "protecting the health and safety of the public"....which I can prove is not, in some of their actions, adhered too....

What do they do as a charity......build homes for the homeless, feed the starving, rescue sick animals?

They do nothing for free, everything they do costs, some charges are illegal and the conflicts of interest abound......

They are a business......and a dodgy one at that........

I have always had a problem with CEOs of REAL charities earning top dollar, let alone a corrupt business/Industry Board claiming to be a charity to avoid paying tax..........if you are so charitable and care soooo much.... do it for a modest/livable income, from a modest building and donate your free time to the cause that you now presently earn 4 to 5 times the livable wage for promoting and collecting "donations"......bearing in mind that a donation is given of your own free will, not (in our situation) forced on threat of not getting your licence unless you pay the "outside" of law levy............ Utter crap.

When has the Board actually done anything charitable, oh ....except that trip all their partners went on to Melborne....any of this ring fair to anyone?

I wonder if the photocopier is actually owned by a Board member or one of the staff. The huge lease could be a way of bumping someones income. Either that or its gold plated

$30 000.00 per year for 5 years....with nothing to show for it after! $150 000.00 spent....nothing to show for it after 5 years.

$195 000.00 per year for 9 years...with nothing to show for it after! $1 755 000.00 spent ....nothing to show for it after 9 years.

So we have spent $1905000.00....nearly 2 firkin million dollars ....and after it nothing to show for it but receipts.....

What could have they bought with such an amount......why the Terrace??? What the funk can that photocopier do???

We have put that in, out of our families mouths.....and afterwards have nothing to show for it, at all....just the kudos and ego massage for the clowns on the Terrace, pricks...dodgy little pricks........
