Drip tray sizing

Hi,

I'm getting a HJ Coopers MP180 stainless steel 180L cylinder which has a 550 mm diameter, installed. I'd like to install a drip tray as my old cylinder leaked and damaged the floor but the dimensions of the area are fairly tight. What would the minimum recommended size of the drip tray be? E.g. is 10mm either side likely sufficient (even if not ideal?) so a 570 mm x 570 mm or 570 mm round tray would be sufficient? Obviously it depends on what is available but I know HJ Coopers do an ABS one in 585 mm x 585 mm (which should be okay if it's suitable but I'd like to get a better idea of the minimum in case I can't find that).

hi, the cylinder must have been leaking for a long time to damage the floor. Are you having a drain installed from the new tray? cheers

If you are getting it installed then your plumber will sort it out. You should't have to worry about. Dont forget to check his card!!! :P

I'd only bother with a tray if I intended to stay in the house longer than the life expectancy of the cylinder e.g. The next 16 to 20 years, otherwise it's a waste of money, I'm not allowing for product failure of course ( which could happen at any time).
I've moved at least 6 times in the lifetime of the cylinder I installed in the first house I bought.
