Hi ,
If we are exemption holders for Plumbing and Gas (EPUS, EGUS) do we need to complete CPD Points?
-
no - your certifying gasfitter or plumber with whom you are working under direct/indirect supervision does
-
Does someone with an exemption need a supervisor?
-
TS - my understanding is that they do - for the first two years of an exemption that person must work under the direct supervision of their supervisor. Exemption holders are not allowed to do testing, or final connections as far as I understand it.
Everyone who is not a certifier needs a supervisor to sign off, or direct them in their work. They may not have to work in their presence after the prescribed times, but they still need a supervisor.

Exemption for plumbing under supervision
Exemptions
These people are not registered and don't have a full qualification, but they can do plumbing work provided they are supervised by a certifying person, who must ensure that the work is done competently.
I believe it is only licenced and certifing that will have to do CPD points.

The interesting thing is there are number of these people running their own businesses ,self employed with no staff , what the hell is that about, makes a joke of the requirement for fully qualified people having to upskill , I have said it before and will say it again why do certifiers agree to supervise these people ?
