What are you doing on the long weekend
« on: October 19, 2012, 11:05:31 PM »
The week is over and it's been quite a week - looking forward to a long weekend - time to get away from the stress and shitfights - if only for a few days.  What's everyone got planned.  One vege garden has my name all over it - if the weather just holds...

Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

Hi everyone.

Like Robbo I'm going to work.  Got to keep the guys employed so they can provide for their families. Part of this is keeping the powers to be accountable for their actions which are stifling the growth of the industry and causing us all a great deal of pain.

One good thing about all this is that I can hold my head high and tell my grandkids "I did the right thing when we were being wronged".  Must be my Scottish heritage.

'Bide and Fecht,' (means to stand and fight)

Have a good weekend everyone.

Thanks to the Board's bullsh*t and lies I will be living in a caravan up the drive of my work place, away from home,  waiting to be called out, missing my kids grow up, and missing my wife, AND NOW.....preparing a defence for my recent outburst (after 3 years persecution and untold stress) as I am being disciplined by a very prominent organisation for MY "conduct".

After offering no support whatsoever for three years they are now going me for ONE outburst made after seeing my wife and kids crying at the airport AGAIN, been working away now for 18 months since my kangaroo court.

I can't tell you who the organisation is, as they want it all done behind closed doors. Real nice upstanding people. 8)
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

You may as well name them, not hard to work out who it is...what can they do to you that they have not already had a hand in doing??

I would laugh if I got taken to a disciplinary hearing but was not allowed to say who I was being disciplined by.Goes to show how pathetic that group of people are if thats a leading industry concern according to them

Finally a sunny day! Had horrible weather, time to take the family out and fetch some ice cream, hope everyone else had a good long weekend. The good thing about bad weather its a great excuse to stay in bed  ::)

Gee - you guys need some r&r proper!

I took my boy bush for the weekend - Te Anau/Manapouri fishing tournament staying in shallow bay fishing the local river mouths and surrounding islands

weather was brilliant sat morn, lake Manapouri was glass - poured down in the afternoon - 10 trout caught for the day, mixture of brown and rainbow, brown bigger (4-5lb) but in poor condition (prob should have been 6-8lb), rainbow smaller (2-3lb) but in very good health - stuggled to get tent up and get a decent fire going and was very wet and cold so was a very early night - before dark!!

weather brilliant sun morn but fishing not so good - 2 fish for the morning - packed up camp lunch time to head back for weigh in @2pm but got caught out when the winds picked up and had to take shelter in a bay on way home - thought we were going to be stuck there for the night but lake eventually settled and managed to make it back to trailer @8 just before dark well and truly missing weigh

was a very quiet sun night - settled with a nice chinese meal before retiring to bed @ crib in Manapouri township for quite possibly the best sleep i have had in a very long time - much overdue!!

very much a pleasant weekend and great to get out throwing a lure around (first time since feb this year!!) eventful as it was enjoyable and a timely reminder of the great things this country has within easy reach for all!!
