Post by: diane2jsmith55 on January 28, 2011, 08:39:04 AM
Someone mentioned plumbing putty will discolor cultured marble & I should use silicon instead for under the drain & faucet in my bathroom sink - any truth to this?

Hi i have used the plumbers mate in the uk and it was fine never had any discolouration just use it tidily, clear silicon will do the same job and might be a bit easier should you need to remove the nut at a later date

I once cracked a basin by over tightening a waste back nut trying to get the putty to squeeze out! Silicone for me from that day forward.
