Hey...

My cuz wants a new cook top put in...Which is easy I can do,Me and my big mouth!!! Suggested while I'm here why don't you hook up your big kick arse BBQ you got for your birthday else well...Now it's a room heater too!

Just before I start just what to clear up some tiny little details.Am a gasfitter by trade (Aussie thou) So all good?

1-Gas bottles.. is it, Kpa 2.75, LPG ,two 45kg cylinders ,regulator,And do they deliever once there empty,Cos will need to have it pressure tested (And holds pressure) signed off ,paper work filled out too receive new one..Whats he looking at in price for the that?

2-Sizing,work in millimetres 15mm,20mm,25mm etc..for my main run and what type volume I will be needing ,mj rating of the heater, cooker,BBQ is pumping thou?

3-Copper to pressure pipe fittings, then into that is it? K-Pax,Rehar yellow tube gas rating stuff OK? Don't have the crimping tools for the job,If anyone can offer a better solution would be great!! prefer copper trust it..

4-Know I should just get a registered gasfitter over there,Would!! believe me..Being the 1st tradesmen in the family and Maori..everything a love job!! Plus it eats into my fishing time!

Cheers...

Mate I don't mean to be rude, but if you need to ask questions like this you shouldn't be doing this job.  If you can't sign it off and certify it your love job for your cuz could backfire big time - if anything goes wrong he won't have insurance if the work has not been done by a licensed (NZ Licensed) person.  Also none of the LPG companies will deliver the next set of bottles if the gas certificate hasn't been done.  Perhaps the best thing would be for your cuz to get a NZ trained and qualified gasfitter to do the job with you offering labour.  You could be the world's best gasfitter but I know my company isn't willing to ever sign off anyone else's work - the risk is too big and the stakes are too high.  Someone signs you off and then you head back to Aussie and this job gets pulled up for an audit and you've buggered something up - the certifying gasfitter fails the audit ($120) plus could land himself in deep water.  Break the news to your cuz - it's not worth it unless he wants essentially an illegal installation!
