Title: Help needed with Consumer gas stove installation/reconfigure
Post by: w3 on March 30, 2010, 03:14:18 PM

Is there a gasfitter out there in the Auckland region who can find a solution to our problem?

Three years ago we had an Ariston cooker installed to our apartment. It is piped to an outside wall and uses LPG cylinder supply (9kg) located on the walkway at the front of our apartment. The stove is gas hob / electric oven.

Recently we have been contacted by the body-corporate (who are known to be mean-spirited) notifying us that we would need to remove the LPG cylinders as they are on common property.

So we are desperately looking for help to reconfigure our installation. We don't want to lose our gas hobs as they are so efficient, and we certainly don't want to buy another stove!

Is there a gasfitter experienced with similar installations, who can help us?
We are in the Auckland region.

The two possibilities we can see are:

- moving the LPG supply to the balcony on the opposite side of our apartment where the body corporate have no control over it
- using a smaller LPG cylinder stored alongside the cooker (we know of another owner apartment that uses their cooker in this way)

Any help is much appreciated.
We really need to find a way to make this work, and are currently in quite a predicament!
