Title: LPG oven requires 37 mbar gas pressure
Post by: dodgplumma on December 06, 2009, 10:01:25 AM
Went to look at an existing installation yesterday for a family friend who has just moved to another house. Has a Bompani 900 gas oven, rating plate says operating pressure 37mbar (3.7 kpa). On an LPG system with an Infinity 26 califont requiring 2.75 kpa. Fujikoh non adjustable Auto changeover regulator set at 2.75 kpa. Hob burners on oven working no worries at this pressure, flame picture is fine, no evidence of under gassing, but oven burner and grill burner absolutely hopeless. (2hrs to bake a cake).Anybody come across these cookers before? and what's the best way to overcome problem? ie. Can I just fit larger injectors and adjust primary air, or do I have to increase main g.p and fit secondary reg to califont? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

How did you get on ? A UK regulator pressure is 37mbar in that situation I would change the gas reg  and check the other appliances to see if they have an operating range in that pressure .

most califont style water heaters can take a max of 5 Kpa inlet, remembering that they have their own regulators to make them operate/modulate at the pressure (usually below 1.0 kpa) so consulting the waterheaters data plate you should be able to put in a 3.7Kpa lpg reg and just check that the califont is still gasing itself normally, i havn't dealt with those cookers before but im assuming they are  on the ESS website and permitted in this country, blah blah..
