hey i thought using a garden hose was good because it allows oxygen molicules to pass through it giving a flamiable premix of gas/oxgyen even before it gets to the burner...lol.

thing is though thunder - do we REALLY want another level/layer of bureaucracy?

instances such as above will never stop, this is obviously the work of an unlicensed person surely? perhaps an investigation would be warranted on this property in order to trace previous owners and people that may have worked on the install?

did the currant owner/occupier do the work himself? if so it needs to be reported to the board...

I agree with integrated.  It's ok to go  :o at this sort of thing - but why should we be protecting any bas***ds that do this sort of work?

To me its not about protecting the person that did this work originally its about protecting the poor innocent bastard that comes after him!...

This sort of work has been happening since time time immemorial and no matter how hard anyone tries to stamp it out they never will, its like weed for example no matter how much money the police throw at this problem they will never stop it...the only real thing you can do to stop this sort of thing is to educate people and hope they make the right choice. but in saying that there will always be some who do this sort of thing anyways...and secertly i look forward to seeing what sort of imagination others have and seeing stuff like this makes my training worth it beuause without us...people would literally be in the s**t.

but from a boards perspective its eaiser to go the tradesman because we are a known entity to them, but for them to trace history and then try to prosicute people based on highly circumstantial evidence just wont happen, they will just sit there merrily plugging away at the tradesmen to justify that large disciplinary fee of theres.

This is where a house WOF system is needed with yearly cpd poin...oops i mean a 3-5 yearly inspection or a at point of sale inspection so crap like this can be weeded out esp on the gas side of things.

hi guys
i believe this is prop done by the average bloke around the corner trying save a couple of bucks and he saw a job just like it and it was like it for a least 5 yrs so it got to be ok the word is DIY
i believe these people should be able to do there own pipe work but they should be made aware that they will not be insured if anything goes wrong
i believe we don't need inspectors for everything as we will have to pay cheers jd
