Title: Sitting Exams in AU

I believe we work in an open book industry if we don't know something we pick up the book and check even in modern job specs they now ask for us to have the relevant codes on site for referral, the exams should be based on finding the information needed obviously we need to know large amount off the top of our heads but so much in the exams is no longer or very rarely used and knowing where to find the information is more important than learning for a once off exam. Anyone heading over to oz to look at there exams will find this is the way is it time for the PGDB to take the step into the 21st century

After reading all the comments on this forum, I am determined to do my exams in OZ! I cant believe the way things work around here! I did a drainlaying apprenticeship here in NZ with the Open Polytech, I paid over $1000 and have been studying for 12 months to find out that I cant find answers to half of the questions in the registration exams in the material the Open Polytech gave me. Whats going on?? I asked them how can a professional organisation train someone but at the same time have no say in what goes in the exams?? How will anyone that studies be able to answer questions they cant prepare for, I just don't get it! Whats wrong with these people?? How can the PGDB just make up questions? How can the PGDB not work together with training institutes of this country when it comes to the makeup of the exams? Why the hell would anyone want to sit an exam in NZ anymore??!! By the way PGDB, Your prescriptions are embarrassing!!

That's bullshit mate they are liars if you are a licenced plumber drainlayer and gasfitter in Australia that is the same level as Craftsman in NZ. If they didn't allow it Australia wouldn't recognise NZ licences... The training is better than NZ the tests are open book as you would work in the Field the business course took me one nights reading of a text book multiple choice questions on your tax obligations and understanding contracts FARKEN can't believe you guys are still putting up with this munch bunch FARK wits. No board even comes close to how NZ works 5 years licences no bullshit gas credit course shit and tops maybe $300 dollars for licence which covers the 3 trades whats that $100 a year..... Why are you still living there.........?
