Title: Fellow Practitioner Issue 366 Dated 15 February 2019

This week the Government announced proposed changes to reform vocational education. This has a huge impact on the industry and all sorts of claims have been made this week by organisations.

As an industry we need to be wary of those protecting their patch and look at what has been provided to us and see if it matches the claims made.  Decisions need to be made about what is best for the industry, long term, not individual organisations.

I heard the interview on the radio and Skills painted a picture of them being so good for the industry and they did say "Ask the industry". Well I say they are doing a shit job and they don't communicate with the broad range of the industry.   They seem to just ask the people that support their misguided ways.

Do you believe it?  I've gone nearly two years without any consultation from the Skills Organisation and in the last week I have received three emails with their propaganda trying to make the Governments consultation and proposals look bad. It looks like skills expect us to trust and support them. I say let their empire crumble as they have done nothing for us.
