Did you hear Hon Phil Twyford state "Letting fees are an unjustifiable tax on renters" describing them as a method of "gouging renters". "I don't know of any other area of the law where two parties can contract for a provision of services but then charge a third party."   Well we know of one. How about the the Government providing for the health and safety of the public by way of a regulated industry and then charging the plumbers gasfitters and drainlayers (being the third party) for the service.
