Here is an examination guide from the PGDB website. Topics and weighting include:

Topics Marks
1. Health, safety and supervision responsibilities 20
2. Building services integration and structural integrity preservation 10
3. Foul water systems 25
4. Water supply systems 45

Total marks 100

You can also book a refresher course http://www.pgdb.co.nz/trade/exams/refresher-courses.html

I found printing out the last 5 years of exams covers you for most topics. Good luck!

Hi Roberto, if you know anyone who has done the refresher course maybe you could ask them if they have any paperwork you could borrow, as Plumber posted the prescription and weighting should be a good indication of what to study.
I found that copying out in writing is a good way to stick it in the brain and study till your eyes bleed! however that worked for me YMMV.
You could also drop into your local polytechnic that has a plumbing tutor and ask if they have any advice or resources that they can point you at they are a good bunch these plumber's you know ;)

Best of luck at ya for your exam.

Hi Roberto,

I believe the Open Polytechnic offers refresher courses for the licensed plumber (9192), certifying plumber (9195), licensed gasfitter (9193) and certifying gasfitter (9196) exams.

These are in the form of night classes run in the weeks leading up to the exam and are very helpful - you would need to be in the Wellington region to attend.

The Open Polytechnic also offers correspondence packages to assist with studying for the licensed plumber (9192), licensed gasfitter (9193), certifying plumber (9195) and certifying gasfitter (9196) examinations.

You could give them a call on 0508 650 200 to inquire about these - ask to speak to Paul Dempster.

All the best with swatting up!
