Post by: John Mackay on April 27, 2017, 02:41:30 PM
hi,

I am relocating Home after 6yrs working in Australia and am deciding on what tools to pack up and ship over.

Does anyone Know definitively that my benders/flare tool/expander will not work on NZ copper pipe.

online research has not be helpful

Thanks,

John

As far as i know NZ copper sizes are different. NZ are Ireland are the only 2 countries that use these sizes. I have pipe benders from the UK and these bend the copper but my UK pipe slices won't cut through it.

Australian standard copper manufactured to AS 1432 is starting becoming more common in NZ, especially with the press fit copper systems.

If you have enough freight allowance, I would recommend bringing your Australian benders/flare tool/expanders back across the ditch.
