Title: National Hero?
Post by: flushed on March 16, 2017, 09:07:20 AM
Hi, interesting reading the stuff around Jacinda Ardern, but has anyone followed the story of the so called National Hero that blew his campervan up on February the 10 at Taupo? - http://www.stuff.co.nz/timaru-herald/news/national/89585670/Taupo-man-drove-his-flaming-motorhome-to-safety-after-gas-explosion
Clearly a serious breach of the Gas Safety and measurement regs and the PG&D act here and would be interesting to see if anything is followed up on.
Great to see the support offered by the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association and so I checked out their website. - https://www.nzmca.org.nz/news/gas-requirements, a very disappointing read....
Its no wonder incidents such as these continue to happen on such a regular basis, Energy Safety,  PGDB, The NZ Fire Service,  NZ Transport Agency, and others such as the Holiday Accommodation Parks Association ( he was in a camping ground) , New Zealand Motor Caravan Association (he was a member)  should really in my view step up to the mark here.

This should fall in to Energy Safety's area to follow up on.  It's serious enough.
