Title: Fellow Practitioner Issue 320 Dated 28 October 2016

A conspiracy theory was a term first used by President Nixon in the United States to demonize those who questioned his actions. Eventually he was found to have been involved in an actual conspiracy.

Is it possible the Government doesn’t do anything for our industry because it is getting what it wants with regard to keeping house prices down?  What would happen if everyone in the plumbing gasfitting and drainlaying industry were all legitimate and charged out at an appropriate rate of $120.00 - $180.00 an hour? We would say the labour costs of plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying in a house would nearly double.  So perhaps its in the Governments best interest that they don't assist the industry and push us to one side. Perhaps its easier to just demonize us in the eyes of the public.

What do you think?

Is it a conspiracy theory or is it simply FACT. It doesn't really matter what it is because the industry doesn't have any teeth to force any issues. We are all too responsible to go on strike and endanger the health and safety of the public and the Government know that.

You would think the Government would look after our industry but instead they treat us with total contempt. Nothing will happen until the industry shows the Government we are not here to be pissed around. It would be better for the Government to do something now before we get into the election year but we have a weak minister who doesn't really have a clue so we are all stuck in neutral.

hi guys, with reference to shower regulations in the latest F. Practitioner, there is no mention of showers that have `Shower Domes` which is quite common now so could no splash at all, do the bureaucrats not know of this modern fitting that goes on top of showers, cheers

Drag them into court and make them face past corruption, dodgy dealings, mismanagement of the cert system, lies, etc etc...then when there is a legal president for all this and they are officially seen for what they have done.... then wipe the slate clean and start again, learning from the mistakes and not brushing them under the carpet and pretending it didn't happen.

They act with impunity because that's what has happened in the past, they need to face what they have done and what they are doing, I feel to ignore it is to be complicit in the corruption/dodgy dealings.

If any of us even make an honest mistake, WE ARE hounded and even set up if it suits, while others have got away with blatant incompetence if they have connections....

All I am asking for is for the premeditated wrong doers to face their wrong doing.

Exactly WHERE are things at with the review of the 2006 Act - I haven't seen or heard much about it apart from in the Fellow Practitioner.  Is it nearly finished, has it really started, are they going to ask ordinary practitioners for any feedback?
