Title: Insinkerator - Elctrician or Plumber?
Post by: BenWright on September 30, 2016, 05:13:56 PM
Hi Guys and Gals,

Our insinkerator has stopped working and it is the only route to drain our sink. I plugged the kettle into the all sockets connected to the insinkerator to check and we seem to have power from the button which starts the insinkerator but nothing happens when the insinkerator is connected.

This would suggest to me that we would need a plumber over a sparky but is there anything else I could check or do by myself before calling someone over? Is this possibly a manufacturer issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

try the reset button before doing anything - if that is no good and the power plug is good then you are up for a new one - which a plumber will swap out

You can also try turning the shaft with the key  if you have it or an imperial allen key at the bottom of the unit to ensure that it has not been jammed up.
