Title: Fake sparky fined $18,000

Why the disparity? The courts usually fine fake plumbers a pittance and the media calls them cowboy plumbers. Is it time that we were actually recognised as having qualifications and being important.

What about politicians who lie to get elected, f@*k it up for generations, have no responsibility, and then get re elected.... oh yes and life long perks

local government well ... need i say anything

Doctors who lop off the wrong bit, or outright kill you,  bury their mistakes no dramas....

Ever seen architectural $$$ plans that just are not right?

Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority - cited world wide as how not to go about Earthquake recovery.

The bloke who decided that it would be a good idea to take a drink from a 6.000 psi water blaster and now with the H.S.E act we are all dragged down to the lowest common denominator.

The list it seems is endless.

I believe that there are a lot of people out there that think that plumbers just fix toilets and blocked drains  and charge too much and that they are high school drop outs.

Remember the bloke that got a hefty fine for failing to seismically restrain a hot water cylinder?

Rant off...........

The Landlord who killed his tenant with his DIY gas installation got 6 months home detention and $5k reparations.

A bit of context is revealing.

"The Landlord who killed his tenant with his DIY gas installation" who just happened to be a certifying drainlayer and should have known better.

The judge, who in his sentencing, started with a term of imprisonment of 20 months (out of a max of 24 months) and then using standard discounts for early guilty plea, remorse, etc reduced it to "6 months home detention and $5k reparations".

The head of the contracting firm that allowed a worker into an unsecured 4 metre deep trench which collapsed killing the worker who got 4 months home detention.
