no need for a trap. no need for a vent. what does everyone think? Ive got an architect wanting me to use these because its so easy. What do I do with all my trade knowledge about venting and traps now theyre no longer needed?
-
hi spud, i think that you will still have to vent in certain cases, over 3mtrs install an AAV,cheers
-
Hey Hepvo valves are these bag traps your talking about?
Cheers En.
-
Hi guys, end the ones that I know are the DUCK BILL type they have no trap, cheers
-
why would I have to install an aav if more than 3 m? theres no water seal that could be sucked out. an aav wont let sufficient air into pipe to dry pipe out.
come on guys you must have seen these Hepvo valves around? www.hepvo.com
in my opinion theyre shit, and I don't want to put them in...just wondering what anyone else thinks

I dont think they are bad - I have used them in certain situations such as pedestal whb's so everything is nicely concealed, some bath's & showers where there just has not been the room for a conventional trap
Basically I have used them as a last resort where a conventional trap was not viable which sometimes happens with retro's etc
I dont think they are that bad either - have used maybe 20? of them over the years, they have been around for awhile - not had a prob with them - only thing is they can pong a bit if something gets stuck in there holding the flap open - read kids & females with toys, cotton buds, hair clips etc
