What a joke, they did a plumber for $1368 in Tauranga because he didnt have a current licence !

How much did it cost to prosecute this poor bugger! and clearly he is a old plumber according to his rego number.
i am disgusted !

We are paying for this and pgdb are wasting our money on chasing US !
Come on pgdb, pull your finger out and focus on the real dangers to or trade.... the public !!

I am concerned about the board witholding licenses if you owe them money. Presumably they mean fines. So if you cant work, how can you pay the fine. I would like to see a National education campaign advising all plumbers to go to court as the fines are minimal compared to the staggering sums the board comes up with

Hi Bowtieboy

I heard this was an old chap who had an old flyer that stated he was registered (which he is) The complainant (someone who didn't want to pay their bill) claimed he thought he was licensed.  The worst thing is it was a spouting job, not even sanitary plumbing but because the complainant claimed he thought this old chap was licensed the poor old bugger gets hung out to dry and the Board can claim they are cleaning up the industry by helping people who don't want to pay their bill get payback.

Another case of pleading guilty because its cheaper than paying for a lawyer to defend the case. Just plain wrong.
