QUESTION 4
(a) State the purpose of a rodding point.

(b)   What extra provision would be required if a rodding point were to be installed within a building
envelope rather than outside the building?
(1 mark)

(c)  Draw a side elevation of a rodding point as it would be connected to a drain. Label the main
components and give the maximum depth.

Question 4.

a) Access for cleaning the drain in case of blockage.

b) Roding points within the building envelope shall be in an area that complies with the isolation and ventilation requirements for spaces in which soil fixtures are located.
