Title: Privacy breach by the pgdb
Post by: bowtieboy on July 17, 2014, 05:53:39 PM
Evening all,
I would like to hear from anyone who has been sent a letter from the pgdb regarding the breach of privacy with the 6 May pgdb minutes, posted on their web site on the 19th June.

 I have my own opinion on why they did this but i will leave that out of this forum, my concern is that there was a number of tradesmen that had their names published WITHOUT their permission, intentionally or by mistake ???

So if you have had a letter and you have asked them questions i would be keen to hear what you have been told.
regards ::)

I'm one of the people who was affected and one of the people who initially identified the problem.

The Federation has put a brief outline of what has happened so far in this weeks Fellow Practitioner.

A request has been made for more information from the Privacy Commission and Nick Smiths Office.   The Board has declined to supply the name of the Privacy Officer.

The Privacy Commission agreed the Board would get nothing more than a slap with a wet bus ticket if complaints are laid with them. Remember the Board can not be held liable unless there is an act of bad faith or they don't take reasonable care. It would also have to be a civil action.

I'll post more once we get supplied with more information.

I was one too, a suspicious minded person could think it was done to "out" all the disgruntled tradesman and identify them.
