Members Required for Plumbing, Gasfitting, Drainlaying Industry Leadership Forum

The Skills Organisation is looking for participants to join the first Plumbing, Gasfitting & Drainlaying Leadership Forum.

We are looking for approximately 12 members from industry to be involved, and we would like to invite you to put your name forward to be part of the forum. Forums will be held in Wellington and the first meeting is scheduled for Thursday 6 March 2014.

Meeting each quarter, members will form a crucial point of consultation for significant development in the industry training sector.

In summary members will be encouraged to:
◾Provide advisory input to The Skills Organisation on plumbing, gasfitting, drainlaying skills and training
◾Contribute strategic and technical expertise in relation to the framing and context of The Skills Organisation’s work programme for the plumbing, gasfitting, drainlaying industry
◾Communicate priorities, processes and progress to their networks and obtain feedback
◾Promote national standards and qualifications to industry

It is important to note that members are expected to cover their own travel costs to and from each forum.

If you are interested in becoming a leadership forum member please contact Stephen Bocock on stephenbo@skills.org.nz by 24 January 2014.  Successful members will be notified prior to 6 March 2014.

You will be pleased to know that there are at least three Federation members on this committee so far.  There are also some Master Plumber members and some people that are members of neither group.  There is a representative from the PGDB and SKILLS.  It is in the very early stages - so if you are interested then you should certainly put your name forward.  It is a very important job - feeding back from our apprentices and industry.
