Title: Blocked drain advice
Post by: neilyounguk on March 16, 2014, 08:41:33 PM
Hi,
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice on an issue with my drain?

I have included a picture

The outlet where the bathroom/kitchen si nk and shower water comes out is blocked.

The brown pipe gets blocked and then fills up and spill over the side

Should all the water go down the brown pipe?

Had one person look at it and he said that the drain is broken and the whole area needs to be dug out as it has all collapsed. He said I’m looking at around $800

Thanks, Neil

BFrom the photo it looks like white chip stone from the surrounding garden may have fallen into your gully trap. It might be worth getting your hand dirty first by reaching down into the gully trap (brown pipe) and giving it a clean out by hand, it might just be the gully trap blocked, you never know you luck. If that doesn't do the trick, calling a plumber/drainlayer to look into it further would be a good bet.
