Review of the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Act 2006 - is it a go or is it all departments on stop?

Did you know 3643 new registrations over a five year period has only resulted in an increase of 705 licenses.  Whose fault is it?

This week we look at what is needed in the future, what do we believe is needed for the industry to progress and what needs to be done to get change without risking our jobs?

I can smell a retrospectively changed law, because the Board actually called the position an "impartial" investigator in the past.....must have known he wasn't/isn't......just out of curiosity who is the investigator involved.

We heard of a comment made last week in a Discipline Hearing where natural justice was being discussed with regard to the actions and appointment of investigators and this is what is believed to be the legal advice given to the Board. Apparently it was stated:

“The short point, Mr Chairman and Members of the Board, is that the investigator need not be independent or impartial” (or words to that effect).

I heard there is a South African Sign Language interpreter looking for work, perhaps he could interpret policy for the Board?

Merry Christmas everyone.

You would think there must be some official out there from some competent government agency or department that would say "those figures aren't much good lets do something about it".

;D  Yes, there is a govt twerp that does that and they have done their job very well by only giving the stats that were published. This is yet another cover up which is what the twerps do when confronted with the truth.  By not telling the whole story, it looks like all is rosy in plumbing town.

Hi guys,(You would think some competent government agency or department that would say let’s do something about it")yeah right.

What they will be saying is: `if we do nothing, nothing will happen` so the status quo remains, cheers
