Hi guys, in this week’s ‘Fellow Practitioner, a week in the Federation` highlights
sterling work by Wal and the team on behalf of trades people in our trades. It just goes to show that without the federation none of these departments/organisations would know/care of the problems that exist in our trades, then we would be at the mercy of the overbearing board, cheers
A week in the Federation
This has been a very busy week for the Federation where committee members have:
(1) Been interviewed by investigators from the Ombudsman’s office,
(2) Have placed a considerable submission with the Office of the Auditor General,
(3) Have spoken to and provided advice to Bill English’s office as a result of a Federation member laying a complaint with his office
(4)and a small delegation went to parliament and met with a member of the opposition to discuss Tertiary training and other industry issues.

Yes, a week of excitement alright!! I loved the article on Will MP's pay - highly unlikely I suspect, but it does put things into perspective though - why shouldn't THEY pay if we have to pay? One rule for us and another for them.
As the Federation assert - if we can get the training of our apprentices right, the rest will flow through ok - the need for constant CPD points may also drop away.
