Post by: Jaxcat on July 10, 2013, 05:34:47 PM
The Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board’s purpose is to contribute to the health and safety of the public through regulation of the people working in the respective trades. As the result of an internal promotion, the Board is seeking to appoint a Technical Services Officer to assist with its service delivery to stakeholders.

This role is responsible for assisting the team leader with the various technical functions that the Board is involved in. These include competence and compliance assessments, investigations, CPD course quality assurance and providing technical input to various Board processes.

The ideal candidate for this position will be registered in two or more of the trades, one of which will be as a Certifying Drainlayer. In addition, we are looking for a person who:
has an understanding of working in a regulatory environment;
has current knowledge of the compliance requirements that relate to the trades;
has an interest or experience in competence assessment and technical investigation work;
has good written and verbal communication skills;
has excellent people skills; and
is comfortable using Microsoft office software applications.

Applications should be sent to tereska@pgdb.co.nz by 5pm Wednesday 24 July.

Well Badger you certainly meet the requirements, I wouldn't think there are too many other gasfitters out there, besides Wal, that know the regulations inside out as well as you do.

The pay ain't too bad either 65 - 75k.  Good luck, hope you make it to the interview. ;)

If the officer junior is getting $65-75K whats the Technical manager on?

Who would want to go and work for an organisation like the Board where there is no honesty or integrity and their credibility is non existant.

It looks to me that they pay high wages to get people to apply and then encourage them to stoop to the Boards and CEO level to continue to keep their high paid jobs.

Money rules over morals.

Apparently a certifying gasfitter and plumber with a limited electrical license and 25 years experience AND a very in depth 4 year experience of their discipline system was not what they were looking for ......

Thank you for your interest in the TEAM LEADER - TECHNICAL SERVICES role, reference number 41099.  We'd like to give you an update on the outcome of your application for this role.

Unfortunately at this stage, we've decided not to proceed any further with your application.  This decision has been based on the brief provided by our client, including the requirements of the role,  We have also considered the suitability of all candidates.

I would have joined their organisation and bring to the role honesty and integrity.....I could do night classes for the dodgy pricks and push morals around the water cooler......damn you restraining order.
