Title: Correct wording on the back of licence PGDB card?
Post by: Plumber on June 21, 2013, 12:02:09 AM
Are you a licensed plumber and gas fitter?  Well according to misses Matric today our licensed was asked to leave the job because his card said the following "The holder of this authorisation card must work under the supervision of" xxx. I checked with another guy that is a licensed plumber and certifying Drainlayer and it seems that card says the same thing. It does not specify exactly to what this applies and whether direct supervision is required (so believed misses Matric).  Obviously the public does not understand the politics of the PGDB and reads it as it is. Now that this has happened I can see how this can be misunderstood, thought it would be interesting to share.

I told the Board about this a long time ago and they said it wasn't a problem all the client had to do was to ring the Board for confirmation.  They also claimed the supervision definition was on their website and the public would be made aware of this in the Public Awareness campaign. (which was a total failure).

Just another failure by the Board.

.........perhaps a disclaimer should be put on all their publications as they did the gas cert (safety lol) system......

Dear customer........."insert board statement"......this may not represent common sense or the truth, or even what is actually written, please ring the mirrored tower of opulence (offices) for a legal spin from one of our highly paid spinners (lawyers).

It is her fault.....her "school boy" error was to believe her eyes and take what is written on face value......especially when dealing with Board. Silly customer.

Just thought of a name for the Mirrored tower of opulence on The Terrace......Faulty Tower......give Max a wig and a moustache and a Spanish accent, you got Manwell the waiter (...and we are always waiting for him).....hee's not a rat, hee's a 'amster.......

.......no actually Manwell....his name is Allan, but I can see where the confusion could start..........he even looks like a hamster.

It is beyond a joke how much they can f**** up all at once...... at ours and the publics expense......if it was us making a tenth of these mistakes.....we would be rushed into court and censured.......

In other words, waste my time, waste the employees time (we still pay for) waste the clients time and open up a gap for debate and criticism because someone does not know how to word a card so the average English speaking person can understand what it says? My goodness, Imagine being asked for your drivers licence every day for no reason and waiting for the cop while he calls NZ transport to make sure he can read it properly.

Of course it cost the customers to ring the board as they have no o8oo number. Who is going to do that.

And the moral of the story is save ya money, order a pizza, have a beer or five and work unlicensed.

72 points for three trades, too much for most tradies to get anyway. not to mention the cost......
