Title: NZS 5255 certificate of verification.
Post by: mini g on January 08, 2013, 06:36:08 PM
Hi, any one had dealings with this std to get gas reconnected to a house, appears theres about 14 pages of forms to fill out then a certificate of verification. Owners are told this is free and shouldn't be charged. Its giving me a head ache just looking at it let alone filling it in, it would take ages to do all the checks rather than just the line test for soundness.?

dont know who told them its free , it seems the 5255 is an interim standard that was put out as guide , for gasfitters and gas retailers to confirm an existing installation is sound and safe to be reconnected to gas after a length of time without operation , maybe the retailer does it for free , but I certainly wouldnt be .
