Title: Block Course Results
Post by: Jaxcat on December 28, 2012, 01:39:24 PM
I have just received five block course reports for my trainees.  If any of the organisations that take my money for my apprentices had people working through I would have complained to them, but they have the luxury of all being closed.  I am utterly disgusted at these reports - they can't even get the names of my apprentices correct through the reports.  They are so obviously a cut and paste job with the comments as they are very similar on each report and the names change.  On two of the five they show two different names throughout the report i.e. my trainees name and then someone else's in the comments.  So are these comments meant for my apprentice, are they meant for someone else's apprentice, or are they are the same comments for everyones apprentices with just a name change (if you are lucky).  Remind me again someone how much I am paying for these block course both as an employer and as a taxpayer, and then how much my apprentice is paying.  This is simply not good enough.  How can I possibly have any faith in the comments?  What happened to peer review and something as simple as proof reading????  I think this stinks and I am very, very annoyed.  I will be returning them with a request for an explanation.

Hi Jax

Well you are paying in the vicinity of $16,000.00 each now and you don't get any training just assessments.

I had a problem this week as well where I received notification of two of my apprentices attending courses early in the New Year but the trouble is I only have one apprentice.  The other hasn't worked in the industry for over two years.

The ITO has been told a number of times that he isn't employed in the industry and each course my apprentice has been on he has told them the other guy is no longer an apprentice.  I really do wonder if this is another case of claiming fees for someone who isn't in the industry.

I fear the industry has jumped out of the frying pan and in to the fire. The viability of having apprentices and the standard of training is very questionable.
