Interesting article on copper pipe in the recent Plumbers Journal. Have to say I would rather see copper used than PPR pipe. There are some nightmare stories floating around in the commercial world about this sort of pipe - and I think in many cases copper is still preferred. I would love to see a similar article outling the advantages/problems with PPR pipe too. A well written piece, but as I say, would have been good alongside an article on PPR to give some balance.

interested to hear of issues re ppr jax - for a while there it was spec'd on many large scale commercial jobs we did - biggest a 200 rm hotel
i always had a bit of a dislike for it as i saw it comparable to galv in many ways - reps hated me
still used for jennian homes (although i dont do work for them anymore) - they get a kickback for it
it probably has a place but more so for rural/agri i IMO
seems to have swung back to copper of late - but in saying that the last one we did (mainfreight) we used Plumbing World as supplier and their copper was diabolical - deformed was an understatement and quality was severely lacking
