The jungle telegraph has been red hot this week, with reports and rumours of more privacy issues and investigations gone wrong.
CPD has been a hot topic now that people are realising they are buying points not competence. Suppliers are starting to see sense and are seeking advice on the direction of CPD and the industry.
This week a Fees Review Apology from us and a summary of the Regulations Review Committee hearing this week

How high are they gonna stack their cards?!?
-
They will probably stack the cards until the bureaucracy won't support them any longer and then blame everyone who has apposed them. Make sure you read the Fellow Practitioner this week as the Editor tells me it will blow your mind and show how honest the Board is.
-
hi guys, looking forward to that one Wal,cheers
-
good morning guys, could someone please tell me if i am correct in thinking the board have full time lawer/s on the pallroll funded by the tradesman through the registration or as they call it now, what is it... certifying scheme ?
-
Yes they certainly do - they have general counsel and then other solicitors. There could be up to four on the payroll. These lawyers don't prosecute though - oh no they outsource that work to other law firms - so congratulations you are no only paying for lawyers inside the board payroll, but also funding the outsourcing to barristers. I would hate to see the total cost spent on lawyers from the Board's budget. You know it is not that long ago when NO lawyers worked at the Board and they simply outsourced the prosecutions - you know back when the licence fee was far smaller than it is now. I am now sure what caused the legal explosion, but look at it this way - it is encouraging more people to study law - and you know ;) the world needs more lawyers ....
-
Isn't it Lawyers (Shark) week on Discovery Chanel this week? Might see some on there.
The Editor may be able to give us some figures about lawyers.
-
I was in there the other week and believe me it is very plush too, lots of chrome and glass. Had a lovely talk to Max and Kern about why it takes over 6 months for an apology.....then the police turned up and gave me a ride home. Lovely.
-
if the board has legals on its pallroll funded by the hard workings of others then it seems fair and reasonable for the "others" to have access to and for legal advice regarding earning of income by means of plumbing should they be required?
surely this would be seen fair and just.
just wondering............
-
then the police turned up and gave me a ride home. Lovely.....
wow badger that was nice of them to put a taxi on for you!!! ;)how thoughtfull those...... are >:(
-
i guessing you prebooked the ride home badger ;D
-
No mate, Max was kind enough to ring them for me......funny thing is when you tell people the full story they are as amazed and outraged as I am.
The PC that picked me up and his colleague's at the station were nothing short of professional in carrying out their duty...........following protocol and procedure to the letter.........perhaps they could run a CPD course for the clowns at the Board. ;)
-
Badger, i bet if you had actually broken the law, and the evidence had been as flimsy, transparant and biased as at your kangaroo court, the police and their procecution service wouldn't have touched it with a bargepole! Case dismissed, f*** off home, and can i speak to the boards legal council!!. Shame you cant get to a real court. ;)
-
Where do you go mate??? all the channels available are through those that would be disadvantaged and exposed by the truth....so they are going to play fair......yeah right!
