generally anyone can bring charges under an act

the board normally do this

if found guilty you will be fined

fines range from $1000-$2000 generally from what I have seen

OUr local Council received a request from the  PGDB  LAST WEEK   to ensure that subbies actually have licenses and to ensure they have the correct one. You would think that this would be compulsory and that the Board would have requested this years ago. It will be interesting to see who goes out of business over this.

It is about time that happened I know I was always checked by the council but they never made a fuss if you didnt have a licence on you. I did catch a builder doing the plumbing in a house I turned up to do some gas work at he didnt like what I had to say about that and unfortunatly in these tight economic times more builders are sneaking around doing the plumbing thanks to the help of the good old mitre 10 and bunnings around the corner.

Its not just Mitre 10 and Bunnings I was in at Mico's on Friday to see a builder setting up a account and then today the very same builder buying a large quantity of plumbing gear  ???.

We need to lobby our own merchants about this and ask where there loyalty is and if necessary look at changing merchants

thats outragous and disgusting, builders build houses, they dont do plumbing, if i found anyone who isnt licenced carrying out plumbing id dob them into the board!!! we pay good money to do our jobs so why should builders be able to go around to bunnings or mitre 10 and pick up the gear themselves
