Title: Toilet not flushing completly
Post by: SpankMe on May 26, 2012, 04:38:31 PM
The toilet doesn't flush everything away most of the time. I tried dumping a bucket of water into it to see if it's an issue with the flow from the cistern, but that didn't work either. The water level doesn't rise much when flushing or dumping water from bucket. Appreciate any advice.

Side question. Is CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) still available in NZ? Would like to try pouring that down the overflow in the cistern.

what brand of toilet have you got as some cheap placemaker/bunnings toilets are crap and dont provide a good flush...also if you have poured a bucket of water down your toilet and you say it didnt make any diffrence then you better get a qualified plumber in to have a look at the situation and provide you with some solid answers...on here you will only get theroyitical answers as we need to see the toilet in action to determine what the actual problem is...Good luck.

Ps Dont worry about wasting any money on trying to put CLR down your drain untill you have got a qualified person to determine what the problem is...

Did you change your toilet paper? (the more layers the more it traps air, especially the cheap kind)Was the problem always there?
