Title: Registered plumber in Brisbane
Post by: mark3166 on April 25, 2012, 09:15:59 PM
Hi,  I wanted to see if anyone could help me out.

I am currently an apprentice plumber and will be out of my time early next year,  I have passed my registration exam so just need to ride out the rest of my block courses now.

I have been trying to find info on the net about working in Australia as a NZ registered plumber but can't seem to find much about it.

My wife and I along with our 3 kids are hoping to move to Brisbane but I want to make sure I'll actually be able to work over there with my NZ registration?

Does anyone have any idea of what is involved? Like do you need to actually be certifying and not simply registered? Will I need to sit any exams etc etc

Any help would be much appreciated,  thanks

Hi Mark

There is a nz/aus ttma which is the trans tasman mutural recognition of qualifications if you look it up on pgdb site there is some info you will need to first register in NZ i believe but not 100% on that but once you have it you apply for your licence with the queensland plumbers board over there. you will find your licence overthere will only cost about $90 and is valid for 3 years also!!
