valves on ballcock lines

as a plumber id like to see a valve in a ceiling on the line to the ballcock in a header tank, i have been told by another plumber that this is "lazy plumbing", i believe that should be a requirement for the 15mm line to the ballcock, would save time turning the whole house's water supply off,

what do you think?????

I personally agree. There is no requirement however. Interestingly enough everyone puts one on a WC but their not required there. I think its good trade practice to put them on ballcock lines.

i also think that line strainers are a good point too, although i always use pyrmid filters

Its recommended, but not a must. I personally think they should go in. Saves time trying to find the old "buried toby".
