LPG regulator readings
« on: August 08, 2012, 03:08:14 PM »
Have just done some tests on a client supplied LPG regulator with an outlet of 2.8 kpa upon testing the system the pressure is about 4 kpa and not until the system is running full bore does it drop below 3kpa. it is a brand new non adjustible regulator any ideas?

hi,guys/james bond, i would say that that is o.k. if it was reading 2.7kpa, bythe time the gas got to the appliance it would be lower. The appliance should regulate it down to 2.7kpa have you taken a reading at the usage point, cheers

its only about 500mm of pipe work from the cylinder out side to the hob inside reading taken at the hob my understanding of a regulator is that it supplies a constant regulatated pressure downstream as set or per manufacturers settings are the LPG ones different?

hi,02b007, you can only trust the equipment, try another reg or call the rep for advice, if you think that it is dangerous disconnect untill you have it solved, cheers

If you have an un adjustable reg providing nearly double the intended pressure, replace it mate.
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......
