vent/flue laser level
« on: July 22, 2013, 08:38:44 PM »
I've just purchased a laser level and I would like to use it for installing vents or wood fire flues,

I am looking for a way of sitting a laser level on a stable base which would sit on a 50,80 and 100mm pvc pipe spigot???

I have seen a way in which a 150mm stainless steel crimped flue end was used with a large flat top that would support the laser, with a 3.5mm hole in the centre,

when you position the laser over that hole on the base, and it disappeared, that was centre in the fire spigot, hence the laser dot on the ceiling (once the fire was correctly positioned is the mark in which to cut the hole in the ceiling and then the roofing iron,

have you got any ides???

cheers

I guess you could try a pvc solvent cap
tho i have looked at the self leveling lazers i still use a string line with a 12 mm dyna bolt on the end as a plumb line .... YMMV.  ;)
