Getting Shafted
« on: November 22, 2022, 03:40:09 PM »
When the Federation ceased operations, I said I would be watching and have kept a close eye on what’s going on and I can report with total disgust that the plumbing gasfitting and drainlaying industry is getting totally shafted. The bureaucrats are destroying the regulation and training within the industry and there is no consultation on anything. It seems it’s all about money as fees go up and the standards of what is supplied goes down.
Remember when people in power stoop so low that nothing will change, and they lose the trust and respect of those they should be regulating they leave those people with very few options.
The Minister and the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board are at a total joke and if these people don’t have standards, then how can they expect us to follow their leadership for a better industry.
People I have spoken to in the industry have no voice to effect change and have nothing to lose except the tread on their boots as they walk away. Come on industry use your voice and speak up on this forum.

Regards

Wal

Hi Wal,

I totally agree mate, but when you have a board who can turn their back on indisputable evidence, still available to this day (which I am happy to provide), ignoring 9 people of interest for an explosion that nearly killed someone. At the time telling untruths while the poor owner laid in a drug induced coma, with no one to this day held accountable...for these people to then go on to pontificate about safety, training, licensing and any other lucrative income stream...well they just aren't what they pretend to be.

In my mind a "perpetual" industry board inherits the past actions of that perpetual board, in perpetuity (that's the definition of the word)...but this board think that because they weren't "there" they can use this as an excuse to put their fingers in their ears and go lalalalala.

Remember the three monkeys with their hands over their eyes, ears and mouth... well they got two down pat, not seeing nor listening...just wish they would master the last one.

Please see their reply attached...I will complain every 9th April on the anniversary every year... until we finally get some people appointed to the board with some empathy, accountability, conscience and basic decency... hopefully with a little less money driven, narcissistic hypocritical ego swelling pomp.

Socrates said "it is better for the soul to suffer an injustice, than to inflict one"... or perpetuate one. But I suppose you would need a soul for this to be relevant.

You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

For clarity when I say "ignoring 9 people of interest for an explosion that nearly killed someone"...

I should say ignoring 9 people who were highlighted by the investigation (inquisition) of that explosion...

There is only one person to whom I believe the evidence points to for the explosion... handwriting samples indicated by an expert, receipts (especially for the hose that caused the explosion), he was the last person there, photos that show my initial install was altered, etc, etc, etc.

They hid the photos that proved what I had said for 2 years, proving the pipe was lowered...while they sent my wife child sexual abuse case notes to prove a point on probability, sent just as we were forced to sell our home. My very young sons lived in a caravan with my wife while I was forced to work away. My wife using a chemical toilet and collecting drinking water for a whole winter.

Think on that...the installation was altered...the cylinder station was totally replaced, mid way an appliance was added, the pipe lowered that supplied the two fryers and the third hose sold weeks after I left the job...because the hose had ruptured before the explosion...add to that, that the original "complaint" actually named someone else as the installer of the appliances...named in the DOL report.

How do you think you'd fair??? Did I deserve to get that inflicted on my family???

What I am trying to say is that there are more people who should be looked at, I believe there is even a case of fraud ignored. I can prove all this...

But you guys just remember to pay your licenses and get trained...so you can keep everyone safe... Or the PGDB will come after you...even if you've done nothing wrong (but it suits their agenda).

Hi Everyone.  This week both main political parties have been gloating about how well they have done. As I see it in the last decade we have had five Ministers for Building and Construction and they have been from both main parties. None of them have been effective, none of them have held the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board accountable, none of them held the Industry Training Organisation to account and none off them have done anything for the industry. All they are backing is a regulatory system that is trying to justify its existence and covering up problems caused by it's own actions.

The problem for the industry is that we can't go to either of the main political parties as they created the problems and the small parties have no power to do anything. When they are ankle deep in shit they will blame the industry as they are doing now with supervision (a problem they created with their dual qualification system). Something to think on.
