Fellow Practitioner Issue 183 Dated 29 November 2013
« on: November 29, 2013, 05:29:31 AM »
Last week we reported that over the next few weeks we would be giving you our view on issues affecting the industry. These views will be based on the current situation because as we know, a lot of people in positions of authority in this industry have their hidden agendas and operate on a secret society basis.

The first subject we are looking at is the qualifications review. Is it meeting industry needs or is it a stop gap because time is running out? Where do we believe it is taking us?

This week the Federation sent a request to the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board for consultation with the industry on Classes of Registration. What do you think?

I'm all for the consultation of the Registration Classes. Look at what has been achieved in the last ten years with training NOTHING. It has gone backwards and we are paying more for it. There seems to be too many "middle men" clipping the ticket and now its all about money not quality. What version of training are we up to 5-6?. All thats happend is old systems have been patched up and have failed so why will this system be any different?

Good on the Federation for stepping up and approaching the Board.
